Bugs can be a problem as with any caribbean island.  However with proper protection this is rarely an issue in the West End area with its cool sea breezes.  We sell and provide a product call cactus juice which is organic and used throughout the islands.  It is a product that our staff at Kids Sea Camp use and standby.  We have yet after traveling to Roatan and Honduras for now 20 years, not once contracted a single illness.  I can safely say, none of our staff has ever looked like they have the mumps.  Margo who has traveled the world for the past 30 years also swears by Vitamin B.  It kicks out a smell from the skin that in most people repels bugs. So why not give it a try?

There is a pre-check available to make customs easier when arriving in Roatan.

Below are the steps to follow to complete the pre-check.

  1. 1. At the link below you will be sent to the precheck website for migration. The website is in Spanish, so we recommend doing this on a computer as the web browser will translate it for you (if you are not Spanish savvy.)
  2.  Click Sign Up underneath the Log in section to create an account.
  3. Create log in with your email and desired password.
  4.  You will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to activate your account.
  5. After you activate the account you can then Log in.
  6. Once you are logged in, in the top left hand corner will be a tab that says “Pre-Chequear” click that tab.
  7. Fill out the questions on details of travel arrival, departure, etc. For forseen address in this country you can write “West Bay, Honduras.”
  8. Continue through the questions on the next couple pages.
  9. At the end you will be confirmed for precheck and ready to go!
