Why chose Palau for your family this summer?
Palau is an incredible destination that has been on my family bucket list for the last 6 years and I am happy to say that it far exceeds my expectations. Palau is perfect for families because it caters to all levels of divers, as well as non divers. With ship wrecks and sunken airplanes in as little as 8 feet of water, everyone can experience the history and culture of this destination. With the kids, we can go to German Channel and they can see for the first time ever as children what its like to dive with Manta rays and even sharks.
I love diving with the kids, the 10 and 11 and 12 year olds are certified to 40 feet, so there is so much in Palau for them to see and do. Plus, it’s one of the few places in the world where they can safely dive wrecks, reefs, and see big animals. Just off the dock there are mandarin fish to see along with many other treats, like a family swim in Jellyfish Lake or shark dive at Blue Corner. Kids enjoy picking sea shells and coconuts off the beach, boogie boarding in the surf and kyak tours around the Rock Islands. Families will enjoy authentic Palauan dancers and music as well as a possible visit from the president of Palau himself.
Sam's has 6 boats to choose from so parents can dive with kids or the kids can dive with other kids their age. We have a boat for young adults, that dives 70 feet for kids age 14 to 17 and a boat that dives 40 feet for kids age 10 and 11 who are already certified or for those who just want to snorkel. Non diving family members have several great activities to enjoy as well, including island tours, history and culture tours, surfing, snorkeling, shopping or spa. Kids can also take their PADI Advance Diver or Jr. Advanced Open Water certification in Palau. Just log onto www.padi.com and sign up for the e learning ahead of time to get your quizes out of the way and we will do the rest for you in Palau. This does need to be pre booked so give us enough notice and we will include the course in your childs package.
The meals are truly incredible and breakfast includes a large variety of Japanese and American items, some things that you don't normally get to see on a breakfast buffet- like sushi :)
You will get to see dancers and dinner shows throughout the week. These shows are very entertaining and will help teach you and your kids a little bit about Palau’s vast history and culture.
The adult diving program satisfies all dive levels- from deep wrecks and walls to shallow reefs and wrecks as well. There are lots of turtles and big schools of fish, perfect for photographers. Warm water and calm seas this time of year make it wonderful to enjoy. The Palau Royal Resort is just across the street from Sam’s Tours and transportation is provided each day. Marc and Dermot run Sam’s Tours and are always very happy to do whatever they can to help, Dermot has kids of his own and I enjoy them mixing in to meet and enjoy our children. Adults and kids will have a blast painting throughout the week- one of the many highlights of this trip!
We’ve done this trip with 2 and 3 year olds, that have totally enjoyed the kids’ club as well as all the Sasy kids age 4 and up. We normally have about 4 or 5 in this group, 5 or 6 Seal Team kids age 8 and up, as well as 5 or 6 Jr. Open Water certification course students and 15 to 20 certified diver kids age 10-17. So, as you can see, there is lots of fun and new found friends for all the kids to meet and enjoy. Palau Family Dive Adventures is fantastic and well worth the travel time.
Kids will learn so much history on World War I and World War II as well as see and dive the relicts of the time is sure to impress their teachers. The possibility of meeting the President of Palau is an added bonus and is a very special experience. He is truly inspirational.
I’m very happy to talk with you about Palau. Please feel free to give me a call. Continental is our group carrier and we have space leaving from both LAX and HNL. Traveling as a group gives everyone the perfect opportunity to meet each other and get acquainted, so there is no shyness on arrival.
Each Family will receive a Palau T- shirt and hat. We look forward to seeing you this summer. Thank you for sharing your family with ours.
Kind regards,
Margo Peyton
