Let’s get them in the water early
The SASY program is for younger kids ages (4-7) interested in learning basic snorkel/scuba dive skills in the pool and the ocean. “SASY” is a Surface Supplied Air System that resembles a scuba unit with a small tank and regulator and is designed to float on the surface. Your young soon-to-be diver gets to breathe through the regulator thus creating bubbles so it’s just like diving apart from remaining on the surface.
The “BCD” is in effect a life jacket and does not permit the child to descend underwater but does provide a safe and comfortable snorkel system. The Sasy program varies by destination but the focus of the program is to get the kids enjoying the water and learning about the ocean!
Kids Sea Camp is one of the few dive companies in the world that gets a PADI waiver that allows for kids to experience the ocean in confined, pool-like conditions. Kids Sea Camp has over 7,600 newly certified divers in the past 20 years.
We are proud that most of the kids start participating in the SASY and SEAL programs before becoming Open Water divers.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Beyond learning basic scuba skills, there are specialty AquaMissions, such as wreck diving, navigation, buoyancy, environmental awareness and more. PADI Seal Team (ages 8-9) includes doing some cool stuff in the pool & in the ocean with Kids Sea Camp only. Kids can dive with a PADI instructor at Kids Sea Camp to a depth of 12ft after learning 5 Aqua Missions in the pool. Kids enjoy meeting new dive buddies and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world with their moms and dads.
Who should take this program? To join the PADI Seal Team, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required. The PADI Bubble Maker Program is taught at all Kids Sea Camps and has a max depth in the ocean of 6ft.
What will you learn? The PADI Seal Team program teaches responsibility and respect for the aquatic realm. It’s broken into two parts.
Part one, AquaMissions 1 – 5: Covers basic scuba diving skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and swimming around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Each session takes about an hour. Complete these AquaMissions and become a recognized PADI Seal Team Member. Your experience may also count toward the PADI Open Water Diver course when you’re old enough to participate in the course.
Part two: 10 specialty AquaMissions, includes adventures like creature identification, search and recovery diving, and skin diving. Complete all of these and you’ll become a PADI Master Seal Team Member – joining an elite group of young scuba divers.
How can you start learning now? Contact us to enroll your child in the program and get started with a PADI Seal Team Crew-Pak. Your Pak includes everything a PADI Seal Team Member needs to prepare for AquaMissions including a fun video, activity book with puzzles, and log book pages to track your adventures.
What scuba gear will you use? In the PADI Seal Team program, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, dive gauges, and a tank. Ask good questions
Make sure as with Kids Sea Camp, all our dive team is Kid friendly, Kid trained and our teams have lots of experience with kids. This is super important to make sure your child has fun and feels comfortable and you can trust the expert you leave them with. Ask your dive shop if they have little tanks, little fins, little masks and little BC’s. At Kids Sea Camp we provide all of that and kids get to keep their fins, masks and snorkels. They are included.
We provide 5 full days of fun activities and ocean experiences. We also provide time for mom and dad to dive and snorkel with their SASY and Seal Team kids. Make sure any instructor or shop you enroll your kids with is active, insured and experienced. You should ask if they have ever had any accidents and also ask for Kid Friendly instruction. At Kids Sea Camp we have certified over 7600 youths and proudly have zero accidents.
