Giving Back - Help save our oceans!
Ocean Wishes and Kids Sea Camp: Giving back is our corporate mandate
At Kids Sea Camp and Ocean Wishes, we give back by teaching our youth and their families how to responsibly enjoy, preserve, and protect our underwater world. Kids Sea Camp contributes over $20,000 in funds and supplies annually to selected organizations. We encourage you to make a difference, too.
Through your financial contribution, you give the gift of education to youth and their families, providing knowledge and skills to enjoy, preserve, and protect our underwater world. With your help and our awareness message, we can make a difference. Kids Sea Camp, Family Dive Adventures, and Oceanwishes.org actively partner with numerous charities and research centers.
Nearly three-quarters of the Earth is covered by oceans, and changes to the marine environment directly affect the planet, the environment, and, ultimately, our lives. Yet mankind continues to dump, pollute, practice overfishing, and, in a variety of other ways, contribute to the demise of the ocean and the lives of its inhabitants.
An Ocean in Trouble
It is troubling that commercial fisheries have drastically reduced fish populations over the last century and altered the world’s marine ecosystems. On a global level, most fisheries are poorly managed and fish stocks have been fully exploited (52%), over-exploited (16%), or depleted (7%). The world’s capture fisheries peaked in the late 1980s, and despite increased fishing efforts, catch rates have dropped. More hours on the water for fishermen have yielded fewer and fewer fish.
Here’s a list of other links to start giving back
- Sea Shepherd: Kids Sea Camp and Oceanwishes.org support Sea Shepard and its work worldwide. Sea Shepard assists in enforcing international law under the authority of the United Nations World Charter for Nature.
- Reef Renewal: Since 2012, Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire has been dedicated to restoring Bonaire’s coral reefs through innovative coral nurseries and restoration techniques. Guided by our key priorities, we continue to restore multiple coral species, educate people worldwide about how they can help, and use the latest science and research to guide and shape our techniques.
- Charles Darwin Foundation: On behalf of the Charles Darwin Foundation, we thank Ocean Wishes for your gift to support our work. Thanks for giving back. At CDF, we devote our research to finding solutions to protect the unique array of animals, plants, and people that make the Galapagos so special. CDF’s core mission is scientific research and technical assistance that informs sound management and decision-making for the long-term conservation of the Galapagos. Our supporters are a vital part of the team that helps. CDF continues to meet the challenges of the islands’ changing social and environmental landscape. cdfdevelopment@fcdarwin.org.ec

The Ocean Wishes Charity
We need your help to save the ocean and educate our fellow humans. We need help illustrating how our everyday lives are connected to our natural environment and the rest of humanity. Let’s inspire each other to take action and make changes in our environments that will positively impact the quality of life we share. Help Ocean Wishes raise awareness of the lethal threats facing our most critical marine habitats and species every day. Help us to educate and communicate to others the value of preserving the biodiversity of our underwater world. Lead by example and share your green ideas and best practices. Help us protect our planet’s precious resources before it’s too late.
With tax-deductible donations to Ocean Wishes, you will help the reefs we love and improve the lives of native island families that depend on the nurturing spirit of the ocean. We believe that when children understand and appreciate the beauty of our oceans, they will grow into motivated adults committed to protecting the environment for future generations.
