Dear Tom and Margo,
I just wanted to write to thank you both and your team for an amazing Kids Sea Camp trip at Cayman Brac Beach Resort. All of our KSC trips have been wonderful, but this one was all of our favorites so far. David Jr even gave it a 10/10, and he’s a tough crowd!
I wanted to just give some specific positive feedback in case it’s helpful, though I imagine you’re familiar with the quality of your staff and that of Reef Divers:
First, the general quality of the hotel’s staff, particularly the food, was astounding. They knew all of our names within five minutes, which was stunning, and were great with getting all the kids’ special food orders and doing it quite quickly—which I know is not easy. They were always gracious and kind at every turn as well.
The dive staff was also awesome. Everyone on our boat was excellent, and David Jr particularly loved Cat, who was his DM. David just told me to say she was the “slayest baddie.” We’re super grateful as he has been a good little diver but a very anxious one, and this trip, with Cat’s rapport and patience, and I think the small KSC ratios provided, seemed to have finally gotten him comfortable and past his fear. I could tell both kids really liked Travis as well, though he wasn’t David’s direct DM. Both seemed really safe and genuinely enjoyed diving—and joking—with the kids, which made it fun all around.
FWIW, I know it’s largely based on the #s you get, but it was fun having the kids all together with us on our boat, but in their own private groups and not necessarily diving with us. This made it fun in between dives while letting us have deeper adult dives.
Jess, who was with Lucas, the ever-finecky personality, was also wonderful. David and I got THREE dive mornings together and some afternoons, because Lucas felt comfortable enough for both of us to go get on the dive boat. I think he also did more actual SASY skills than he ever has—albeit some of them in the hot tub LOL. They were great about doing activities that would interest both younger boys and cater to Lucas’s need of sunblock, when we failed to put him in the right hat—Kiley managed to get us a really nice KSC one when we realized we hadn’t packed the right one at all. Jess also managed to get Lucas into a wetsuit, which I still can’t believe!
Kiley and Rob were also wonderful, of course, and I know they were doing a lot behind the scenes to make sure everyone had a great time. I particularly appreciated Rob being a sport and getting in the hot tub for Lucas’s “family dive” when Lucas found the pool too cold. He got some amazing photos of David and Lucas this trip that I’ll remain grateful for.
We are looking forward to Bonaire in November, and I may email Kiley the 2027 Spring Break dates, as it seems David’s falls exactly between all the current KSC trips posted so far.
Thanks so much!
Lisa

The buoyancy of Kids Sea Camp
Buddy Dive Bonaire Kids Sea Camp 25th anniversary trip. This was my first KSC in 13 years, having started taking my girls in year two, 24 years ago, so being there to help celebrate the 25th anniversary was truly amazing.
I had almost forgotten how amazing these events are, but was impressed with the evolution of the product, and it rekindled my entire family’s diving journey together, + brought new divers into our fold with my one daughter’s fiancé, the other’s boyfriend, along with my adopted granddaughter, all getting certified together. Simply…magical!
Aside from bringing our important youth into diving, I know what these trips have done to strengthen my family bond, and I feel it is essential that Kids Sea Camp continue this journey for our diving community and help build family bonds. We all need a little buoyancy in life, and Kids Sea Camp provides this in such a special way.
Thank you, Margo and Tom, for the 25 years of magic you have been bringing to so many families and divers around the world! And a special shout-out to Kiley for helping make the magic happen!
Much love, David Benz and family

Tom and Margo are awesome! They are so helpful and take the time to know each and every one of their clients. They both make sure you have the best possible time on your family vacation. Tom really goes above and beyond for you and your kids. He is a big kid. The kids think he is awesome. By far the best scuba outfitter on the island. Every day has wonderful, exciting activities planned not only for the kids but also for the adults. My wife, Sarah, and I had a blast at the Kids Sea Camp at Buddy Dive Bonaire.

Morgan has grown up knowing the sea and knowing diving. He looks forward to those trips. I know he loves them because he wears those T-shirts almost non-stop. That’s the real clue to what is important to him because as a teenager he doesn’t say a whole lot sometimes. He does want to keep learning and the KSC PADI DM program is a likely path for him too.
There is plenty of appreciation to spread around for the Philippines trip. I really wasn’t kidding when I said our family is bigger (and still expanding) thanks to you and Kids Sea Camp. We count you both among our best friends.
See you in Dominica if not sooner! Cheers! Beth

Hi Tom, Margo,
Former Kids Sea Camper, Chloe Mei received the 2019 Ocean Hero award on Saturday. Chloe Mei was presented with not one but two awards last weekend. Chloe Mei received the 2019 Ocean Hero award at Oceana’s big gala on Saturday. On Sunday she received the Young Philanthropist of the Year award from Pacific Marine Mammal Center – and in her speeches she always says she started her straw campaign because of her love of scuba diving, and you know who instilled that in her? Margo & Tom Peyton. Bravo to Kids Sea Camp!
I wanted to let you know that Chloe Mei’s story about her journey from SASY to Open-Water Scuba Diver was published in the June issue of Sport Diver/New Diver magazine. It also appears online. Here is the link.
Also, Chloe Mei was interviewed on a podcast a few months ago. That podcast was released on Monday. It’s only 13 minutes long, and her interview is only for the first 11 minutes, but in there, she talks about her love of scuba diving and that Kids Sea Camp Bonaire was where it all started. Here is the link for that podcast.
Bravo for inspiring this young girl to learn scuba, and taking that love even further to protect our ocean environment. I’ve started teaching Ella Lin, now 10, hoping she’ll love diving as much as her sister does.
Looking forward to diving with you again soon

Hi, Tom and Margo!
Just wanted to say thank you for everything you do and everything you are: as a company, as a couple and as individuals. We count you among our great friends. Fly happy on your way to Fiji and home again. We wish we were going to Fiji with you. Please give our best to the Walters family. We had hoped for a trip with them this year, but timelines didn’t work out for us.
We will stay in touch and watch FB for pics of the great things you’ll see and do in the next few weeks.
Cheers! Beth and John

Dear Margo, Olivia, Tom, Overcoming my fears of diving was a big deal for me. I loved the sense of community that Kids Sea Camp fosters and it was the most amazing feeling to overcome my fears and do something I’ve always wanted to do. I want to thank you again for this incredible experience. It was truly one of the best trips we’ve ever taken with the kids on many different levels. It was made even more wonderful to do it with Katelyn.
When we got home she said: “Mommy, you know what? It was really cool that you did something that was hard for you. I was thinking about it and next time I get nervous about doing something that’s hard for me I’ll remember how brave you were – and I’m your daughter so I have some of your bravery, too. Kids Sea Camp helped me overcome my fear and it inspired my daughter!”
AND that is PRICELESS!!!
Thank you for sharing the magic of Kids Sea Camp with us at Cobalt Coast. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend and get to put your feet up a bit.

We took our first Kids Sea Camp trip in August to Buddy Dive Bonaire. My 10.5 yr old son fell in love with scuba diving and earned his PADI Jr. Open Water certification, under the wonderful guidance of Buddy Dive instructors, vetted and personally chosen by Margo.
We are looking forward to our next trip, many more after that. Margo Peyton is wonderful to work with!! My son talks about our Kids Sea Camp family dive trip fondly and all the new friends he made, and the dives we did together.
As her tagline for the weeks says it is something he will remember forever!! (Me too!)

Lots of friends have asked me about getting their kids certified to dive, significantly as their kids grow older and as they hear about our dive trips and adventures. We are huge proponents! Ben and I consistently wax long on our friends Margo Peyton and Tom Peyton at Kids Sea Camp. They do a fantastic job with family dive trips and getting kids to become certified scuba divers. Inevitably, people ask me about taking a course at a local dive shop and the family going on a trip somewhere.
While some do that, it’s not the path we took, and in retrospect, I am so glad we did not. Really and truly, Margo and Kids Sea Camp is unparalleled in the business of not only certifying young divers but also focusing on having them SAFELY shepherded, guided, and mentored as they move up the learning curve and become experienced divers. Just getting certified doesn’t make your kid a good and safe diver. Ben and I laugh when people call scuba diving a sport, BUT it does take more than a certification class to develop the skills needed to be a good diver. Yes! (See for yourself)
There are good divers and bad divers! My mom-friends and I always talk about the developing frontal lobe and kids learning to make sound judgments – think of that underwater! I have to say 10 dive trips with Kids Sea Camp later, Hannah and Caleb are great divers, and I’m thrilled that, even so, Margo has kids covered with extra dive masters on their boats. They love diving as much as we, and it’s been great for us as a family and for them as young people.
So, for my friends who are considering having their kids certified, I’m sharing a long and detailed note from Margo that describes all she does behind the scenes to make it SAFE for kids to dive on her trips and her vision to help develop the next generation of divers and supporters of our oceans. P.S. If you wonder how soon you can go, we took Caleb at 6. He learned to snorkel while Hannah, at 9, put on a tiny tank and BC and played “telephone” in the pool (teaching her not to panic when the regulator pops out of her mouth underwater).
By the way, we are still dreaming and talking about the manta rays and hammerheads from New Year’s and have whale sharks and pygmy seahorses on tap for Thanksgiving!

Empty nesters in the Maldives
By Tony and Renée Fini
Hi Tom and Margo, your mom is doing well and happy. Renee and I have been on the move since getting off the Carpe Nove, but we have a little downtime at the airport in Bangkok, so we wanted to drop you a line.
While you guys were sorely missed, I do have to tell you what a treat it was for Renee and me to get to know Josh. He contacted us when he landed in Male, and we met briefly. Later that day, we reached out to see if he would like to join us for dinner. He had plans with Janet, so we decided on a foursome. By dinner time, it turned into a group of, I believe, 8, and the trip was off and running.
Once on the boat, Josh exemplified every KSC value in the best possible ways. He spoke with reverence for KSC and Tom and yourself, the way the NFL protects its shield. Since we are KSC early adopters and also somewhat protective of the brand and the opportunities it provided our family, we were pleased to see Josh as such a good steward.
As this trip rolled on and everybody got to know each other, Josh really shined. He was like the big brother of the group. Even though he was never really needed for any particular crisis, it was nice to know someone was looking out for you in the event you did need a hand. He easily straddled the line between a participant and a KSC representative.
As the trip wore on and we got to know him better, we really came to appreciate his person and character. He spent countless hours editing photos for the web page and for the group because as he put it when encouraged to relax…” it’s my job”.
In our humble opinion, what wasn’t his job was tracking us down 8 hours later in the airport as we were waiting to jump our flight and just spending the last few minutes making sure we had a good time. The guy was studying his tail off for an exam while everyone else went to a hotel for naps, massages, etc., and still put us first when we returned to the airport.
In short, he is the kind of guy you would like to have as a neighbor. The boat itself exceeded our expectations, the diving was great, and the Maldives were beautiful. All of that, in and of itself, would have made for a successful trip. But for Renee and I what really drives us to travel is meeting people and making friends. In this case, Josh checked that box. We discussed how we are a short flight away from each other and I am sure we will connect with Josh and his wife in the future.
Renee and I are KSC junkies and obviously would follow you guys to lord know where if you said it was worth the trip. You can now add Josh to the list of KSC folks we would look forward to spending time with as much as we would look forward to the trip itself.
We look forward to seeing you guys in the future. Please keep us in mind when planning trips. We have a bit of wanderlust so won’t be able to make them all but we will try to make some. Josh did ask what we thought of possibly adding a terrestrial component to some of the trips in the future and we thought that would be a great addition. We love land-based travel and if you are ever considering adding it and want to bounce ideas around contact us anytime!!

Go For It in the Philippines
by Betsy Royal with Carolyn Pascal
After a few adult beverages at my friend Carolyn’s daughter Melissa’s wedding, our mutual friend Margo suggested we join her on an upcoming Kids Sea Camp trip to the Philippines. She loved it there, and so would we, she said. Thrilled to be spending time at a happy celebration with friends, it was one of those offers that I just could not refuse.
Seriously, WHY NOT? That is how Carolyn and I proceeded in our conversations. We could think of absolutely no reason why we should not do this. So we said Yes, and pulled out some vintage lycra skins from our old warm water diving days. We were on our way!
Margo Peyton and Kids Sea Camp have been connecting families to scuba diving adventures for almost 20 years. Carolyn and I no longer have young kids, but we certainly did enjoy many Kids Sea Camps when we did. Thing is we really didn’t want to give it up just because we now happen to be empty nesters. On one trip a few years back, I had to borrow Carolyn’s 10-year-old grandson so we felt comfortable in one of the Kids Sea Camp activities. We performed (admirably I might add) ‘Who’s Your Buddy?’. Our youngest family member was my daughter Ashley, 20 at the time. We had a blast, but I digress from our summer 2018 Philippine adventure!
Carolyn and I met up in LA, and at the last minute, I got now 30 something Ashley to join us! After a long haul flight to Manila and another short flight to Dumaguete, transfers to Pura Vida Homes Luxury Resort was made easy by the welcoming staff headed by Biggs Eggert. Running PADI 5* IDC Sea Explorers and managing our group’s activities over 2 islands and 2 weeks was a piece of cake for this larger than life powerhouse. Her enthusiasm was contagious and her can-do personality was most inspiring.
The families we met hailed from London, New Mexico, Puerto Rico, San Francisco – a wonderful well-traveled group, many had met on past trips and planned to reconnect. We began to absorb the magnitude of this adventure, and that the memories would be priceless.
Biggs has assembled a dive staff that is second to absolutely none in the world. The dive guides were locals – sometimes they traveled a great distance to work with us, and some lived locally, away from family, for the chance to work with Sea Explorers. These guys were patient, professional, excellent divers and extremely attentive. And both Carolyn and I can honestly say in our 40+ years of diving, no dive guide has ever helped us on with our fins like they were glass slippers, or off with our gear before we stepped up the ladder. Our Prince Charmings were operating in full force. (Note: they did this for the younger divers too!)
Fresh mangos, cookies, and hot tea were highlights for us after every dive. The boats were very unique with their bamboo outriggers…super stable, spacious and efficient. Kids had their own boats, and high energy dive guides, that were even able to get them separated from their beloved electronic devices for long stretches of time.
Which brings us to the diving. Ahh, the diving. Well, my professional life started in sporting goods, and the diving business specifically. Certified in Long Island Sound, NY with much coldwater diving experience, I Landed my first job out of college working with Capt’n Don’s Habitat in Bonaire: Lucky me! This led to diving all over our water planet, which I loved. But along the way, I had developed a ‘been there, done that’ frame of mind. Yet here in the Philippines, it was impossible to be jaded. Each dive was so beautiful, it refreshed our senses and renewed our love of diving. Water temperatures were in the mid to upper 80s. No neoprene, just our colorful & comfortable lycra skins. The freedom of wearing a skin was wonderful and even on a 2nd, 3rd or night dive, I never got cold.
If macro photography or seeking out some of the tiniest critters you’ll ever find is for you, then this is the place! Our guide pointed out pregnant pygmy seahorses, delicate nudibranchs, ghost pipefish and the tiniest crabs I’ve ever seen. To go from marine life smaller than your fingernail to the awe-inspiring whale sharks all in one day..we lacked adjectives.
Whale Sharks! Another check off our bucket list! How can you describe being surrounded by these amazing creatures, calm, curious and seriously gentle giants? Thank Goodness Kids Sea Camp provides each family with a flash drive of all the professional quality photos that are taken during the week, so we don’t have to worry about capturing all these exceptional moments…because they do.
Frogfish that turn neon green to match their host coral. Thresher sharks, turtles, and exotic tropicals could come straight out of a Lucas film design department. One of our favorites on every dive though were the playful clownfish, quite happy in their elegant anemone homes.
‘Muck diving for aliens’, is how the orientation began. As a marketer, I might find a different word than muck for this type of diving, but after dive one, I heartily agree that ‘alien’ is a great description for these miniature sea critters off Dauin, Apos Island, and Cabilao, where we dove the muck. Basically, we hover over a silty bottom and search for the elusive alien or two. If all else fails, we practice our buoyancy and appreciate the life of the garden eels, swaying slowly with the rhythm of the sea.
Evening meals were buffet style, great fresh food, casual & friendly atmosphere. One evening we enjoyed a talk about the Whale Sharks, fascinating fun facts for all ages. On Karaoke Night, kids and adults took the mike into their own hands to entertain along with popular music videos. But my favorite evening at Kids Sea Camp is when we recite our poems or sing our songs for the group, and hear our friends recount the highlights of their week.
The villas at Pura Vida in Dauin included a large living area, balcony, and full kitchen, but we had very little time in the room. Whenever we weren’t diving, sleeping or eating, we were at the coolest and most reasonable spa, getting messages that we so deserved. (Carolyn enjoyed the infinity pool, watching the kid’s horse around, and reading a paperback she borrowed from the front desk titled ‘My Not So Perfect Life’. Although at this point in the trip, we were thinking our lives were pretty close to perfect.)
After week 1, Our group crossed to Cabilao, a small island off Bohol. Pura Vida Resort and Sea Explorers were our hosts there too. The crossing was calm and beautiful, with a stop to once again enjoy the magnificent Whale Sharks along the way.
At the request of Margo and her husband Tom, our group had brought basketball shoes for our dive guides and other staff. I learned that basketball is a sport the locals enjoy whenever they can, and when we visit, Tom and the guys join in. It was fun to watch them in their new footwear and big smiles! Asking us to get involved and support with this local activity was such a meaningful gesture. It brought our group closer to the people we were living and diving with each day.
We are energized and reminded of why we fell in love with diving, travel and the undersea world decades ago. This was such a special experience that I got to share with my daughter, great friends, and some new ones too. But it’s the beauty of the local people and their underwater treasures that inspire me to return. A big long trip, yes. Worth it? Absolutely!
Hope to see you there in 2019!

The Cayman with Kids Sea Camp was awesome
Melanie (16-year-old): Diving in The Cayman Islands, both Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, gave me the opportunity to experience and explore the unknown. The underwater landscapes and astonishing creatures provided a breathtaking view. One amazing sight that we encountered while diving was an old shipwreck. Within the walls and portholes of the ship inhabited many different organisms using the wreck as protection and shelter. Seeing this wonderful sight taught me that a ship that sinks in a tragedy can create a beautifully sacred hideaway for sea life to call their home.
Mariah (13-year-old): During summer 2018 I had an amazing trip to the Cayman Islands and diving both Cayman Brac and Little Cayman! I was a little nervous because I have never heard of it, but it was amazing. Every day we did dives in the crystal clear water, we saw amazing creatures like sea turtles, puffer fish, and huge groupers. Not only was it fun in the water but also there were so many fun activities to do! We had a karaoke night and volleyball tournament but my most favorite was the crab racing, we all picked a crab and raced them and the one out of the circle first won! Cayman Brac was amazing and I hope to go back there again.
Just want to share. This is from Makayla my 19-year-old and I just say wow! Margo thanks for the amazing Kid Sea Camp trip and all that you do for all the other kids and families!!
Thanks again!

Grouper a diver’s best friend
You always hear people talk about how their dog is their best friend; Some people go on about how cows and other animals we consume have emotions and feel pain just like people do. You might read about how lobsters screech when you boil them alive in a pot, but the fact that they might have the mental capacity for emotion and thoughts seems outlandish until you actually witness it, and are forced to empathize. In Cayman Brac I encountered for the first time, the grouper, a type of fish savored in many places and often overfished. This leaves devastated numbers of increasingly small fish, barely able to live their potentially long lives due to high demand for restaurants and supermarkets.
As I watched the grouper follow groups of divers around underwater, wanting to be pet, and showing the divers where to find the lionfish (an invasive species of fish the grouper will only scavenge and not hunt), I realized for myself that other animals besides humans, even fish, have lives worth more than the way we treat them. As every grouper acted differently, with its own personality, I realized that even the animals we see as the most primitive are aware of themselves and their surroundings. It is that very concept of self which makes it evident that we need to reevaluate the way we view where our food comes from, and the which practices we should tolerate in the gathering of these foods. The solution does not need to be the discontinuation of meat-eating, but to stop viewing these creatures as just a piece of meat, and rather something to be grateful for and cherished.

Kids Sea Camp creates decade of growth for family
The Wakely family have done over 20 Kids Sea Camp trips in the past decade. This is a short note expressing their joy in the diving skills in their family.

Dear Margo and Tom,
We’re here in Maui – and it is absolutely stunning and magnificent.
We’ve done a couple of dives – the lava tubes of Lanai (stunning), just amazing – and saw so much life, so much colour, dolphins on the way home in their hundreds, and whales – just incredible – but one of the stand out moments was when we had all got back on the boat – and Mike our instructor said “Wow, you’re a fabulous family to dive with, I just turned round and thought “I don’t need to worry about my divers” I beamed with pride and credited you with our “well lubricated” diving family. I really enjoyed that comment – more than I realized I would.
Then last night we did a night dive – the most stunning night dive I’ve ever done (not being a night dive fan!) – but we saw an eel eating a huge sergeant major – just gulped it down – was incredible – but we came up – and a completely different guide said “Your family is such a pleasure to dive with, you never know how it will be, but I”ve really enjoyed it” – oh wow – Kids Sea Camp absolutely rocks.
It’s so delightful to watch Zeb and Holly sort out their kit, know their marine life, and be so great at spotting life.
Margo Peyton – you absolutely rock! – You are a part of our family – we dive with you whenever we dive, and we love you dearly.
May you have all that you hope for and a little bit more.
Thank you for everything that you have done for us over the past 10 years. A decade of growth, a decade of excellence and here’s to the next decade with Kids Sea Camp.
The Philippines,
The Wakely family

How Kids Sea Camp changed my life
By Robbie Peyton
1. I loved traveling with my mom and being apart of Kids Sea Camp! It kept me far away from TV the nd video games for most of the summer, and I made friends in many countries around the world. I’ve kept in touch with most of them through Facebook, and some have become my closest friends.
Growing up at Kids Sea Camp (KSC) has shaped my life in so many ways and contributed to who I am today. I enjoy diving with marine animals in the open ocean, and I’ve learned how to respect them and how to protect them. I learned how much money it takes and how hard you have to work to educate people to protect the ocean, and how important it is not to pollute and overfish.
Through KSC, I learned about the behaviors of many marine mammals and the marine food chain that keeps nature in balance underwater. Most people do not realize why it’s so sad to put a dolphin in captivity. I learned dolphins and whales have families and friends just like we do. They have a language and emotions and communicate through clicks and other sounds to one another. I had never given a thought to what it was like to be taken from your home and put in a tank never to see your family again. That’s why I love diving because I’m a guest in their world, they are not on display in mine.
2. My mom Margo Peyton created the first Kids Sea Camp when I was 6 years old. I started as a SASY kid and overcame any fear I had of the water learning to snorkel with other kids. By age 8, I had morphed into a PADI Seal and then a Master Seal. Learning to dive gave me confidence in my skills and provided comfort underwater. Jr. Open Water Certification had to wait until I was 10, but was well worth it.
The cool thing about KSC is that each destination is different, so even those of us attending multiple Sea Camps never got bored. As we grew, so did all the amazing activities and adventures that Kids Sea Camp has added over the years — surfing, zombies, white-water rafting, and painting.
Like most kids, I love electronics. For 14 years, SeaLife has been giving cameras to the kids. I got mine in Grand Cayman. The DC1400 digital underwater camera has HD video — sign up, and the camera is included. I have many great pictures of my friends from Kids Sea Camp posted on Facebook.
3. Climbing the ranks in diving. I collect dive certifications like Boy Scouts do merit badges, and I think other than ice diving and tech diving, I have them all. Each destination offers the core certifications, specialties and some are even colleges accredited.
In Utila at Laguna Beach Resort, you can gain certifications like Whale Shark Diver, Zombie Apocalypse Diver, earn Boy Scout merit badges and even ride horses.
In Palau with Sam’s Tours, you can get Wreck Diver, Digital Photo Diver, and Shark Diver certifications. And in Yap at Manta Ray Bay, the Manta Diver specialty certification is offered.
In Bonaire, at Buddy Dive you can get Coral Restoration or Rescue Diver certifications.
In Grand Cayman at Cobalt Coast Resort, you can get Advanced Open Water, Project AWARE or Nitrox certifications. I am working on my PADI Instructor Development with Divetech now. I am excited that I’ll be teaching the next generation of Kids Sea Campers soon!
I am 19 and have over 600 dives. People ask me all the time which Kids Sea Camp destination is my favorite. I can’t answer that question because they are all great — it’s the families who attend that make each one so unique and special. Yap and Palau are a long way to travel to for many people, but experiencing the World War II wrecks, the big sharks and the mantas with my friends Melissa and Corley was the best.
4. It’s a “family” partnership with some very special people. My mom has been doing this for 25 years now; she is in the Women Divers Hall of Fame for creating a safe place for families to dive and enjoy the adventure. Kids Sea Camp has now contributed to 5,000+ PADI certified kids.
The best part is my mom could not have done this by herself. She has had a little help from her friends. Mom has been friends with Troy Bodden from Laguna Beach Resort in Utila for a long time, and Marc Bauman with Sam’s Tours is like a brother to her. When Carolyn Pascal was the publisher of Sport Diver Magazine, she loved the idea so much, she told the whole world about it. Mom practically grew up in Bonaire, and I was born in Grand Cayman. So you see she has a personal relationship with all the resorts and dive operators. She says they are her extended family.
My sister Jen, who is 17, and I have had a great life, growing up under the fins of so many amazing people. Because the resorts are all family owned and family run, they have made each Kids Sea Camp week an unforgettable family adventure.
5. Having a week you’ll remember forever! What I like about each week is the graduation party at the end for all the kids who have become new divers. Families read a poem or do a skit and sing a song, etc.
I like tubing, the sunset cruise, the night dives, and just jumping off the dock with my family. I love the sea scooters and walls and wreck diving. The best is getting the SeaLife cameras. My favorite dive sites are Blue Corner in Palau and the Kittiwake wreck in Grand Cayman. I like traveling to the other side of the world with my friends Melissa and Corley. I guess I just really like traveling with other families.
6. Parents have fun, too! Parents don’t have to be worried about their kids while they’re diving as the kids are having fun, making friends and learning about the marine life.
KSC has shown me so many amazing places incredible experiences, and it’s getting even better because now there is Family Dive Adventures.
Thank you, Mom
Love Robbie
Let me count the ways growing up attending Kids Sea Camp has changed my life

I wanted to thank you, Kids Sea Camp and the Buddy Dive staff for an amazing week in Bonaire. Matteo and I had such an amazing time and Pascal was a great instructor and extremely attentive and dealt with Matteo’s numerous foot injuries (haha). Matteo absolutely adored him. I never worried about Matteo and that made all the difference. I was actually able to relax knowing my child was in good hands, safe and learning.
Everyone, including KSC and Buddy Dive staff, made us feel completely comfortable. Everyone was warm and welcoming, we had such a great time. I felt even more comfortable diving this year, all the crew and dive masters were amazing and helpful.
It was great hanging out with you and the trip to the grocery store was quite memorable! I am glad Margo is up and diving and she is back on track.

Our family just got back from Bonaire and had a fabulous time and just loving Kids Sea Camp. Your crew, as usual, do a great job hosting the week and everyone seemed to have a really great time!! We are all thinking about where to travel to next year. We have quite a large group of people that are all interested in finding a place for us all to travel to next summer. Many of us still have small kids so we really all want to still do a camp with you. The kids simply love Kids Sea Camp!! Thanks for another great week & look forward to another trip with you soon!
Thanks!!

National Geographic experience at Kids Sea Camp
The Bay Islands Kids Kids Sea Camp (Bay Islands Honduras), I am writing rather belatedly to tell you that my family had a terrific time at your camp. It was the best trip we’ve taken since our “pre-child” diving days. We enjoyed 3 dives a day and saw some amazing sights. I was there for the National Geographic moment when a large octopus and a 4′ moray wrangled in a life or death struggle before our eyes (the moray escaped). We saw turtles on at least 5 dives. Noel and Mark always took good care of us and our equipment.
All the while our 9-year-old daughter, Julianna, was snorkeling, learning about scuba, studying marine biology, painting with Ron, and swimming with dolphins. What a blast. I felt great confidence in the care she was receiving from your staff members- she always felt safe and happy, and she didn’t come back sunburned- thanks to Lauren and her attention to details like sunscreen!
The food was great and we liked the fact that we could drink the water and eat produce without health worries there. The picnics and alternate venues provided an enjoyable variety.
Thank you so much for putting together such a great program. Our days were filled with fun and it was a vacation we’ll never forget. We can’t wait to try another camp!

Kids Sea Camp is simply the best
Margo, I have always meant to write you a note to thank you for Kids Sea Camp. We have now enjoyed Grand Cayman, Fiji, Roatan and Bonaire with our kids through you. You have enabled us to dive with our children in wonderful locations that we would never have been able to do without Kids Sea Camp! With 5 children in all the age brackets, our children have been able to enjoy SASY through Teen Diving and have been able to get certified by you.
It is truly a wonderful thing to see how comfortable our children are with diving. Coming from someone who didn’t start diving until I was older, it amazes me to see the ease at which the kids tackle diving. They don’t blink an eye when they need to clear their mask, just whip it off underwater (something I still hate to do!) and the comfort they have with pulling their regulators out of their mouth if needed. They do have the knowledge of all of the risks of diving and know that it is not to be taken for granted, but truly have fun also!
From a parents standpoint, it is also wonderful to know that I can get up, eat breakfast with kids and go off to dive with other adults and know that my kids are safe and happy. I don’t worry about whether someone is being watched over…it is simply always taken care of. The kids don’t feel like they are being “babysat” all day – they have a wonderful time and are simply exhausted by bedtime. It is the best of both worlds to have a family vacation with your children and have a diving vacation for grownups – not something that normally can happen.
It is also wonderful to get to meet and spend time with you and your family and with families that we have seen at multiple camps!
Thank you again for everything that you have done for our family. It is truly priceless!!
Take care, Wendy Smith

Another awesome Kid Sea Camp adventure
Kids Sea Camp allowed us as parents to awesome great morning dives each day knowing that the kids were well attended to. Upon returning to the hotel each day after diving around lunchtime, the kids were so consumed with the content of their own marine programs, they barely recognized our return! The afternoon allowed us, adults, to get out and enjoy some more activities before returning to get the kids at the end of their afternoon sessions. As if the scheduled kids’ activities weren’t enough, it wasn’t uncommon for the instructors and counselors to continue to interact with the kids well beyond the end of scheduled times, and quite often into the evening, as well!
Perhaps most rewarding was that by the end of the week we got to experience the wonders of the oceans with our newly certified Seal Team members together as a family.
Mike & Natalie, parents of Ian and Morgan, To quote the kids, “That was the most awesome vacation we’ve ever had! Indeed it was!”
Kids Sea Camp just made days fly by on our vacation!

Kids Sea Camp as good as they say it is!
We have taken our son James with us on every dive trip we’ve taken — sometimes with and sometimes without babysitters — and it’s usually worked out for us. But when we learned about Kids Sea Camp, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for all along. So much so, in fact, that we began to wonder, “Could it really be as good as they say?”
Well, it was better than advertised! Animal encounters, ocean art, stories, snorkeling, SASY, etc., etc., etc.! Best of all, there were enough responsible and professional instructors to ensure that all the children got all the individual care they needed. Both kids and parents made friends instantly. The families had many opportunities to gather for beach cookouts, and the kids even had their own movie and pizza night. And yes, there is plenty to do for non-divers!
Do yourself and your kids a real favor and attend a Kids Sea Camp destination this year!

I had been debating whether to put down my deposit for our Kids Sea Camp in Curaçao. We couldn’t decide whether we wanted to try a new location or take a year off. But after speaking with Emily at Caribbean Adventures (formerly of Kid Sea Camp) and finding out what a special alumni week they had planned for us “oldtimers,” how could I not make our reservations!
We had such a wonderful time last year, we learned that one week was not enough, so this time we signed up for a two-week stay.
I highly recommend that any family go to Kids Sea Camp and take time to enjoy the Ocean as a family. My dolphin swim will always be a treasured memory. Our second week of camp was a great diving experience. Corley began her junior open-water certification. Getting to dive with her on the final day on the Tugboat dive was such a thrill — seeing how she had learned to operate her equipment and be a responsible diver made me realize what a wonderful teaching dive crew they have at Kids Sea Camp weeks.
All these experiences and so many more — from taking a day trip or diving, meeting new friends and renewing friendships made the year and, of course, golfing made it easy to come back.
On another note, it’s amazing what a small world we live in. Part of our vacation plan was to bring my older daughter, Sara, along with us. She was certified six months before she was sent overseas to do a tour in Afghanistan and then in Iraq, and she had never gotten to dive in the ocean.
While we were waiting for her to arrive, my husband, Jon, overheard a diver talking about his dive buddy who was a paratrooper. Sara is a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, and of course, it made me curious. I introduced myself to him and asked where he was stationed; to make a long story short, his name was Rick MacIntosh and he and Sara had been in Ramadi, Iraq, together. This made for quite a reunion later that week when she arrived and an interesting “You’ll never guess who I ran into while on vacation” story. The beautiful waters of Curaçao made for a very memorable first ocean dive experience for her, and she now understands why we are so hooked on Kids Sea Camp Family Dive Adventures!

Looking forward to our next Kids Sea Camp vacation
Greetings! Hope you and all Kids Sea Camp family are surviving the winter. We are approaching the record for winter snowfall here in West Virginia. 77 inches is our record, we are just a few short of that now.
On behalf of Trey, Anna, Christy, Jenny, and myself, I just want to thank you for the wonderful time we had at Kids Sea Camp in Honduras this past summer. As the months, and the snow, have accumulated since then, we have really enjoyed our memories and photos of KSC.
It was such a great experience for Trey, as it was his first trip to the ocean. Kids Sea Camp set the bar pretty high for Trey’s future vacations. Everything was so well organized and there were so many activities for both kids and adults. It was everything we hoped for and more.
Words can’t begin to describe how much we all enjoyed the marine art painting. You took the experience to a whole new level. It was such a pleasure to spend time with him. He is a real asset to Kids Sea Camp and I’m sure an even greater friend to you and your family.
We are looking forward to many more Kids Sea Camps in the future. We are shooting for one in possibly Bonaire.
Again, many thanks. Have a great week!
Kevin

National Geographic love Kids Sea Camp
Dear Margo,
I have had the good fortune of being able to travel around the world with my children (30 countries and counting), so we’ve shared a lot of interesting and unique experiences together. Last year I was introduced to Margo Peyton and Kids Sea Camp at The Beneath The Sea Show in NJ that I was speaking at. As soon as I learned that we could travel to some of the world’s best dive sites together as a family AND have our boys involved in the fun, we were sold! So we got the kids certified and booked our trip to Palau, which happened to overlap with Thanksgiving. Not to worry though, we were assured that a turkey feast with all the trimmings would be included.
My only complaint with the KSC experience is that we didn’t know about it sooner! The activities for the kids who are not yet old enough to certify were wonderful and the kids just loved them. It also doesn’t hurt that they have no problem meeting other kids their own age. So now we’re eagerly discussing where to go next with KSC. The Galapagos sounds wonderful!

Kids Sea Camp made sure we felt cared for all week long
Last winter, as I was beginning to plan my annual summer dive trip, I encountered some roadblocks. As the single divorced mother of an eight-year-old boy, I had to make sure he would be cared for while I was away. His father recently moved out of state and was inaccessible. My parents, 74 and 84, offered to watch my son but admitted it was becoming more difficult to entertain an active boy for an entire week, especially with no other kids in the neighborhood to play with. When I logged onto the Kids Sea Camp Web site, I immediately contacted Margo she was fantastic to talk to and very informative. I soon received the information packet and knew that I had found the solution to my problem.
When I go on a dive trip, I dive as much as I can. For me, it’s a once-a-year endeavor that I literally submerge myself in. How could I be a mother and dive at the same time? I decided that attending Kids Sea Camp would provide the answer. By week’s end, I had logged thirteen dives, made friends with several other divers and had quality vacation time with my son. While I was diving, my son had great instruction with well-planned daily activities. He was well cared for and made friends while at Kids Sea Camp. The additional bonus of Kids Sea Camp was having a night off during the week with kids pizza movie night so parents can do a night dive!

My whole family is loving Kids Sea Camp
We got to Bonaire Kids Sea Camp a day early to spend a little time getting used to the place. My kids, although avid swimmers, had never really felt comfortable in the ocean. Kids Sea Camp changed everything. The first day in Curaçao, my kids wouldn’t go past where they couldn’t touch the bottom of the water. By day two, they were swimming the channel with local kids, back and forth. I was thrilled that he was loving it!
I had spent my whole childhood enjoying the ocean, and I’d always watched Jacques Cousteau and even got to go to some of his lectures through Cal Tech in California, but after seeing Jaws, I was terrified of getting eaten. Years later, after a really wonderful impromptu snorkeling shark experience with about 50 wonderful leopard sharks, I finally became a scuba diver, a rescue diver and then a divemaster. I finally realized many of my dreams of interaction, observation and the amazing feeling of being in what I think is heaven that scuba diving has to offer. I thought my kids would never see it that way. They were always nervous because of the shark movies they’d seen, whether we were snorkeling or kayaking. Those days are over now.
My son, who really had an aversion to studying, read his scuba certification book nightly with an enthusiasm I had never seen. He worked hard, and his instructor, Steve, worked with those kids in amazing ways. Every day, I saw a personal and intellectual growth in both kids that I could never have imagined. The best part is, they were just having fun and had no idea what huge obstacles they were overcoming.
I have to say, the most exciting day for my husband and me was the day we dove with them for the first time. I dove with Megan in PADI Seal Team, as she wasn’t old enough for the full PADI open-water certification. She actually showed me around the “In Ocean lagoon” and knew what animals hung out where what their personalities and tendencies were and how to interact with them. She took me to all the different areas so I could experience all her new friends: the friendly stingrays, the enormous goliath grouper and the blowfish that just loved to hover right in front of your mask all the time. We laughed and giggled underwater at all their personalities as if it was the most natural thing in the world. She monitored my air and me as if she had to make sure I would be OK in her newly found playground. It was great!
My husband went with Michael on his PADI open-water dive. My son had done it. He was certified. He could go out off of the rocks with his equipment and make good decisions about the current and depth; he was really good at buoyancy and was a natural at looking out for others. There he was in the open ocean, loving and appreciating its vast, amazing beauty with respect and awe, just as I had always dreamed he would get to do.
Michael’s always been like me, feeling close to animals and nature. I used to try to describe to the kids the amazing and beautiful experiences I’ve had as a diver, how it feels to lay on the sandy ocean floor and look up through the Kelp with the sun shining through, how it feels to play copycat with the sea lions, what to do and what not to do so you can enjoy being a guest in their world. Now when we talk about it, Michael gets that same look, that one only divers know and share.
This experience wasn’t available when I was a child. We could only watch the occasional Jacques Cousteau special and dream of what it might be like. But now, my children and I have a world of exploration, beauty, and heaven to explore together. It would be impossible to describe the feeling, as a parent, that I have every time I think about the joy on their faces at their own accomplishment, and whenever I remember the relationships, both human and animal, that they developed through Kids Sea Camp. We’re going again, for two weeks, to do different programs. My kids, who love piles of presents under the tree, were ecstatic when I asked them if it was OK if we did a really small Christmas so that we could go to Kids Sea Camp instead.
Nothing in the world has given them what Margo’s Kids Sea Camp gave them, and we are so fortunate that we have the opportunity in today’s world to give our kids this gift that will start them on a path that will last a lifetime. I am so grateful to Margo for having this dream for her and her kids and making this program a reality for those of us who see the great value in it but never really thought it was a possibility. Not only is it a fun thing to do, but it makes a huge change in the children and the parents who have done this. Our lives will never be the same, and we have been truly blessed by the experience.
Margo is a mom and a diver, so she has high expectations as a parent and that makes me as a mother feel safe and comfortable at her Kids Sea Camps. This was an amazing family experience that we will treasure forever and hopefully will continue to create new ones each year.

Kids Sea Camper’s diving experience
I’m going SCUBA diving for the first time in all my life and I’m only ten! I’m so excited. My mom tells me all about it after she comes back from one of her diving trips. It’s going to be my mom, my brother and me going on the trip. We are leaving tomorrow!
We are at the airport now and we are just sitting here bored as can be. It was kind of starting to take the fun out of the whole trip. I’m just sitting here playing on my laptop again and very bored. My mom told me to start packing up because we were about to leave. So with that, I’m packed up and excited to leave one of the most boring places in the world.
We are FINALLY landing on the dry soil of the Grand Cayman Islands. I was shocked at how little their airport was but man, it was a lot more fun than the one we took on the way here. We are now at our hotel, Cobalt Coast. The ground looked dry and the bricks felt rough. I met all the people in my group…there were only four people in my group!
Today was the first training day for our class. At first, we trained in the pool. I soon found out that that was the easy part. The next day we started to review, but this time it was in the ocean! I should actually be kind of glad that I was in the ocean, even though it smelled like nasty salt water. Either way, the sights were glorious.
Today was the day that I had to take the final deciding test. I’m taking the test and I can’t hear a sound. I’m so nervous. The test was fifty questions and I passed.
We then used this tiny computer that told you how long you could stay underwater for certain depths. I’m taking the diving test and I couldn’t be more nervous. The next day I got the results back…I PASSED!!! I can’t believe it, I was now a CERTIFIED SCUBA diver! Me, Jack, a certified scuba diver…I’m so proud of myself!
Since the tests were over and all four people in my class passed, we decided to just go free dive as much as we could. Whenever I came back from a dive I could still taste the salt water from the ocean on my lips. The water seemed so much bluer and the fish more colorful. It was probably since I didn’t have to focus on my dive masters and I could roam around with the group. Whenever I saw my favorite fish, the Hogfish, I always got overjoyed. This is probably the proudest moment of my life.

You were extremely helpful with all your advice before we got there. As non-divers, Andre and I were clueless as to what was involved.I also wanted to thank you for the whole Kids Sea Camp experience. Annalise had the time of her life. She was all smiles every day. What a gift you have provided for these kids and their parents! She is now certified and waiting for her next chance to dive.
Andre and I brought along books to read thinking there wouldn’t be much for us. We ended up reading only a little bit, mostly to be in the comfy hammocks! We went snorkeling off the snorkel boat almost every day. This was my first experience snorkeling and I LOVED it! Andre also took a Discover Dive one morning and really enjoyed it. He’s thinking about getting certified so he can dive with Annelise. Ron Rogest was very nice and gave me a quick instruction on diving… snorkeling with the dive equipment. It isn’t for me but I’m glad I tried it.
Margo, thank you for providing this opportunity. You have done a fantastic job finding a beautiful setting and a place that catered to divers and non-divers with a great staff!
Many thanks, Cathy

Teen Divers love Kids Sea Camp
Hello again, my fellow teen divers. I come to you now with information on another Kids Sea Camp: Grand Cayman. This was my first time on Grand Cayman, and I have to say, it was a really fun week. It was a totally different experience than Bonaire or Fiji (the other two Kids Sea Camps I have been to). But Grand Cayman was different in a good way, so don’t think it’s a bad thing.
Grand Cayman was mainly different because the program is totally different than your average Kids Sea Camp. There was no teen diver program where you just go on the boat and dive. There are three different groups offered for teens at Kids Sea Camp Grand Cayman. You can do the Junior Open Water program, where you become a certified diver. There is also the Advanced Open Water program, where you take your diving one level up from your regular Open Water Certification. The AOW program requires that you do dives such as a night dive, navigation dive, scooter dive, etc. Finally, there is the Photo/Scooter program (what I did, and for the record, it rocked). That is where you get your DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle, or Underwater Scooter) specialty as well as your Digital Underwater Photography specialty.
All three of these groups do require a little bit of work (I know’ it’s summer, who wants to work?), but it isn’t too bad. The JOW and the AOW groups require more work than the Photo/Scooter group, but it still isn’t that much. Using the DPVs was so much fun. When you are on the DPV, you feel like you are flying underwater. You get to see so much more, and you use a lot less air and energy. You also get a Reefmaster Mini camera in this group. It is a small, 6MP camera, and even though the camera cannot come out of the housing, it works underwater and on land. And the pictures come out really well. In order to get the AOW certification or the two specialties, you have to be twelve years old. So, sorry to all you pre-teens. All the groups take a photo editing clinic, where we use iPhoto on MacBooks to edit our photos to make them even better. So then you can put your photos on Facebook, MySpace, or print them out to show your family.
Grand Cayman is a fun island all the time, even when you are not diving. We go to the Turtle Farm for a day, which has a lot of fun stuff to do. You can also hang out at the famous Seven Mile Beach (which, for the record, is now five and a half miles long). And to all of you skateboarders and surfers, Grand Cayman is home to the second largest skate and surf park in the world, but there is no time to go there during the week. While in Grand Cayman, I highly recommend you try some Tortuga Rum Cake (parents, it isn’t that much rum, so don’t worry. And to the teens, Pirates of the Caribbean had to get the name Tortuga somewhere). It is very good and is served once a week at the hotel after dinner. The main town and capital of Grand Cayman is Georgetown. There is a lot of stuff for any type of teenager to do there. There is shopping, movie theaters, restaurants, basically anything American teenagers are into. Be warned, stores close at 5 PM on Grand Cayman.
During the week, we stay at Cobalt Coast resort, located at West End of Grand Cayman. It is about a 30-minute drive to town from the resort, but the hotel is right by the Turtle Farm, as well as The Cracked Conch (pronounced Konk), a very good restaurant I recommend eating at. Located in Cobalt Coast is Dive Tech, the dive center you will be diving with.
Like Bonaire, Grand Cayman is a great place for all types of divers. The water is clear, calm, and warm, and there are no jellyfish (at least there weren’t any when I was there, but I was told they are very rare in Grand Cayman). There is a lot of fish and coral, so it is a great place to get some good pictures of sea life, as well as your friends underwater.
You can tell your parents there is plenty for them to do as well. There are spas, shopping, and they can take a tour of the Tortuga Rum factory. So everyone will have a good time at Kids Sea Camp Grand Cayman.

Relaxation and diving at Kids Sea Camp
Ed and I were a little worried about taking the same exact vacation we did last year. Especially since we had such a good time in Curacao and we didn’t want to jinx ourselves. But our worries were put to rest after the first day back at Kids Sea Camp. We fell right back into our routine of relaxation and diving. Everything was so organized that all we had to worry about was when to get out of the pool to have dinner.
Ben and Jason seemed to have even more fun this year because they knew the routine and some of the same great teachers were still a part of the program. Ben and Jason also came back each day with a new fact about sea life that they were very excited about. I think what made our week so successful was that the children were having as much fun as we were! We didn’t feel guilty about diving each day, because we knew they were in good hands and having a blast. After spending all day with their friends, at 4:30 pm when we picked them up at the pool, they just wanted to stay in the pool and play. I don’t think there was one minute of the whole week that they were bored.
Our diving experience was a pleasant surprise too, we had different Dive Masters than last year, and we didn’t think they could live up to our experience with Remy and Sherman the year before. Chili and Raoul took over where Remy and Sherman left off. They arranged a visit to the other side of the island to “Mushroom Forest” for our last day of diving. Those two dives were the “icing on the cake” for the whole week. We saw a small sea turtle that seemed to stay with our group forever, and we saw an 8 ft. Nurse shark sleeping under the coral. At our surface interval, they took us to this cool cave that we all snorkeled to and I felt like I was taken back in time.
We also saw a school of squid on the way back to the boat. The small things that the Dive Masters and Captain did during the week were very much appreciated. Louis, the Captain took us on a Harbor Tour during a surface interval, we got to see a huge ship in a Dry Dock getting repaired. We learned some History of the Island too. Louis also arranged for a special treat of Raisin bread one day and Raoul brought coconuts for us to drink from for a surface interval. Everyone on our boat got along so well and it was like a small family at the end of the week saying goodbye.
So overall we were very happy we decided to come back to Kids Sea Camp on Curacao. We are even talking about coming back next year with Ed’s brother and his family.
Thanks again for all you have done to make Kids Sea Camp so special!

Meeting Chee-Chee the Sea lion at Kids Sea Camp
My name is Melissa, and I have been going to Kid’s Sea Camp for 3 years. Some of my favorite things about Kids Sea Camp is scuba diving, the dolphins, the treasure hunt, stingrays, pizza & movie night, Chee-Chee the sea lion, and the ostrich farm. Two things I like about scuba diving are when you are 10 or older, you can get certified, and if you are younger, you can still try it.
My favorite things about the dolphins are that you go in groups of 5 and swim with them! Cool! They also take a picture of the dolphin kissing you. Last year I used my picture of the dolphin and me as a Christmas card! The treasure hunt was cool because if you collect so many coins you get a bigger and bigger prize — (and you get to keep the coins)!
What I think you might like about the stingrays are we get to walk in a tank with them barefoot and they tickle your feet. You also get to feed them by hand!
Chee-Chee the sea lion is special because whenever you are sad you can go to his pool and talk to him. Also, he does tricks for you. FUN!
The best thing about the ostriches is that you can SIT ON THEM. Also, you can hold the baby ones.
I have had a lot of FUN at Kids Sea Camp!

We would like to book the same week and same room if possible for next year!
We enjoyed Kids Sea Camp very much!!! I can not think of another place where the parents can dive every day and their children are having a better time than they are!
We felt that the resort was nice. It lacks a good restaurant, and the front desk staff is not always pleasant but the room makes up for these inconveniences. The room was huge and was very comfortable for our family of 5 for the week. The view was the best part! We were lucky enough to look over the dolphin pool and the ocean. It made for wonderful early mornings watching the dolphins play and listening to the ocean waves.
The camp counselors were top notch, it is very obvious that they love working with children. Jordan and Susanne had an amazing time at camp and learned a lot about the ocean, coral reefs and the other fish and animals that live there. They both loved learning SASSY. I would like to see KSC increase the number of Sassy units available so each child could participate in Sassy each day. Susanne said her favorite activities were the swimming pool and doing Sassy. Jordan said his favorite activities were the games and doing Sassy. Kyle really enjoyed diving, scaring his mother to death, and feeding the sharks and rays at the Sea Aquarium.
Please tell Margo thank you for us for offering such a wonderful camp and diving opportunity. Her hard work is very evident. We really had a great time and are looking forward to going back to Curacao next year!
Thanks for the opportunity to share our ideas and experiences with you.

Dear Margo,
Thanks for the E-Mail, it is really appreciated. My wife and I had a great time this year but our grandson had a fantastic time once again at camp. He enjoyed all the activities during the week and met some of the same children from last year as well as the new ones this year in the first week. Michael really enjoyed sharing his camp time with the Sea Lions. The interaction he was able to have with these Sea Lions and pictures he has with them and himself will be cherished for years to come. The accommodations at the Royal Resort were topnotch.
The Lions Dive Hotel last year was nice but the Royal Resorts, being a newer facility, just made the stay at camp and in Curacao that much more pleasant. Michael has already been asking about going back again next year. Would you please advise me when we can sign up for Sea Camp in Curacao.
Thank you again for your assistance for this year’s camp and making the last minute changes for me again. Your kindness is truly appreciated. Hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
Warmest Regards,
Mike Bergmeister

Kids Sea Camp from a parent’s perspective
We got to Curacao early to spend a little time getting used to the place. My kids, although avid swimmers, had never really felt comfortable in the ocean. Sea Camp changed everything. The first day in Curacao, my kids wouldn’t go past where they couldn’t touch the bottom of the water. By day two, they were swimming the channel with local kids, back and forth. I was thrilled.
Jaws didn’t help my love of diving
I had spent my whole childhood enjoying the ocean and had always watched Jacques Cousteau and had even got to go to some of his lectures through Cal Tech in California, but after seeing Jaws, I was terrified of getting eaten. Years later, after a really wonderful impromptu snorkeling shark experience with about 50 wonderful leopard sharks, I finally became a SCUBA diver, Rescue diver and then a Divemaster. I finally realized many of my dreams of interaction, observation and the amazing feeling of being in what I think is heaven, that SCUBA Diving has to offer. Well, I thought my kids would never see it that way. They were always nervous because of the shark movies they’d seen, whether we were snorkeling or kayaking. Those days are over now.
Family loving diving
My son, who really had an aversion to studying, read his SCUBA certification book nightly with an enthusiasm I had never seen. He worked hard, and his instructor, Steve, worked with those kids in amazing ways. Every day, I saw a personal and intellectual growth in both kids, that I could never have imagined. The best part is, they were just having fun and had no idea what huge obstacles they were overcoming from what I knew of them in the past.
I have to say, that the most exciting day for me and my husband was the day we dove with them for the first time. I dove with Megan, as she wasn’t old enough for open water certification but got her confined water certification.
Kids Sea Camp our Aquarium
She actually showed me around the “In Ocean Aquarium” and knew what animals hung out where what their personalities and tendencies were and how to interact with them. She took me to all the different areas so that I could experience all her new friends: The friendly stingrays, the enormous Jew Fish, and the Blow Fish who just loved to hover right in front of your mask all the time. We laughed and giggled underwater at all their personalities as if it was the most natural thing in the world. She monitored me and my air as if she had to make sure I would be OK in her newly found playground. It was great!!!
My husband went with Micheal on his open water dive. My son had done it. He was certified. He could go out off of the rocks with his equipment, make good decisions about the current and depth, was really good at buoyancy, and was a natural at looking out for others. There he was in the open ocean, loving and appreciating it’s vast amazing beauty with respect and awe, just as I had always dreamed he would get to do. He’s always been like me, feeling close to animals and nature. I used to try and describe to the kids the amazing and beautiful experiences I’ve had as a diver, how it feels to lay on the sandy ocean floor and look up through the kelp with the sun shining through, how it feels to play copycat with the sea lions and the things to do and not to do so that you can enjoy being a guest in their world. Now when I and Micael talk about it, he gets that same look, that one only divers know and share.
Saving for Kids Sea Camp, instead of Christmas
This wasn’t something available when I was a child. We could only watch that occasional Jacques Cousteau special and dream of what it might be like. But now, both I and my children have a world of exploration, beauty, and heaven to explore together. It would be impossible to describe the feeling, as a parent, that I have, every time I think about the joy on their faces at their own accomplishment, and at the relationships, both human and animal that they developed through Kids Sea Camp. We’re going again, for two weeks, to do different programs. My kids, who love piles of presents under the tree, were ecstatic when I asked them if it was OK if we did a really small Christmas so that we could go to Kids Sea Camp instead.
The gift that keeps on giving
Nothing in the world has given them what Sea Camp gave them, and we are so fortunate that we have the opportunity in today’s world to give our kids this gift that will start them on a path that will last a lifetime. I am so grateful to Margo for having this dream for her and her kids and making this program a reality for those of us who see the great value in it but never really thought it was a possibility. Not only is it a fun thing to do, but it makes a huge change in the children and the parents who have done this. Our lives will never be the same and we have been truly blessed by the experience.

Kids Sea Camp a single mom’s solution
Last winter, as I was beginning to plan my annual summer dive trip, I encountered some roadblocks. As a single divorced mother of an eight-year-old boy, I had the problem of making sure he would be cared for, while I was away. His father recently moved out of state and was inaccessible. My parents, 74 and 84, offered to watch my son, but admitted it was becoming more difficult to entertain an active boy for an entire week…especially with no other kids in the neighborhood to play with. When I logged onto the Kids Sea Camp website, I immediately contacted Margo. I soon received the information packet and knew that I had found the solution to my problem.
When I go on a dive trip, I dive….as much as I can. For me, it’s a once a year endeavor that I literally submerge myself in. How could I be a mother and dive at the same time? I decided that attending Kids Sea Camp would provide the answer. By week’s end, I had logged thirteen dives, made friends with several other divers and had quality vacation time with my son. While I was diving, my son had great instruction with well planned daily activities. He was well cared for and made friends while at KSC. The additional bonus to KSC Curacao was having access to the Curacao Sea Aquarium and the dolphin interactions at Dolphin Academy.

Kids Sea Camp vacation money well spent
I had been debating on whether to put down my deposit for the 2005 Kids Sea Camp in Curacao. We couldn’t decide whether we wanted to try a new location or take a year off. But after speaking with Emily at Caribbean Adventures/formerly of Kids Sea Camp, and found out what a special alumni week they had planned for us “oldtimers” how could I not put in our reservations!
We had such a wonderful time at Curacao last year, we had learned from our first year that one week was not enough and we signed up for a two-week stay. We enrolled our daughter, Corley, in the Dolphin Training Program the first week. It was such an incredible experience watching as she put “her” dolphin, Teresa, thru her paces. The way those beautiful animals interact with people is so amazing. I highly recommend any family going to camp, take time to have their own dolphin swim. My swim will always be a treasured memory. Our second week of camp was the diving week. Corley began her junior open-water certification. Getting to dive with her on the final day on the Tugboat dive was such a thrill, seeing how she had learned to operate her equipment and be a responsible diver made me realize what a wonderful teaching crew they have from Ocean Encounters. All these experiences and so many more from taking a day trip to Klein Curacao, diving the Mushroom Forest, meeting new friends and renewing friendships made the year before, and of course golfing with Nolo makes it easy to come back.
On another note, it’s amazing what a small world we live in. Part of our vacation plans was to bring my older daughter, Sara along with us. She was certified 6 months before she was sent overseas to do a tour in Afghanistan and then Iraq, and she had never gotten to dive into the ocean yet. While we were waiting for her to arrive, my husband, Jon overheard a diver talking about her dive buddy who was a paratrooper. Sara is a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, and of course, it made me curious. I introduced myself to him and asked where he was stationed, to make a long story short, his name was Rick MacIntosh and he and Sara had been in Ramadi, Iraq together. This made for quite a reunion later that week when she arrived and an interesting “you’ll never guess who I ran into while on vacation” story. The beautiful waters of Curacao made for a very memorable first ocean dive experience for her and she now understands why we are so hooked on Kidsseacamp!

Kids Sea Camp was exactly what we were looking for
We have taken our son James with us on every dive trip we’ve taken, sometimes with and sometimes without babysitters, and it’s usually worked out for us. But when we learned about Kids Sea Camp, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for all along. So much so, in fact, that we began to wonder, “could it really be as good as they say?”
Well, it was better than advertised! The kids were kept so busy with so many wonderful activities that the days just flew by! Animal encounters, ocean art, stories, snorkeling, SASY, etc, etc! And best of all, there were enough responsible and professional instructors that each child got all the individual care that they needed. Friends were made instantly by both kids and parents. The families had many opportunities to gather for beach cookouts and the kids even had their own movie and pizza night. And yes, there is plenty to do for non-divers!
Do yourself and your kids a real favor and attend a Kids Sea Camp destination in 2006!

Parents love Kids Sea Camp
Kids Sea Camp allowed us as parents to enjoy great morning dives each day knowing that the kids were well attended to.
Upon return to the hotel each day after diving is lunchtime, the kids were so consumed with the content of their programming, they barely recognized our return!
The afternoon allowed us to get out and enjoy some more activities, before returning to get the kids at the end of their afternoon sessions. As if the scheduled kid’s activities weren’t enough, it wasn’t uncommon for the instructors and counselors to continue to interact with the kids well beyond the end of scheduled times, and quite often into the evening as well!
Perhaps most rewarding was that by the end of the week we got to experience the wonders of the oceans with our newly certified Seal Team members together as a family.
To quote the kids – “that was the most awesome vacation we’ve ever had!” Indeed it was!

Kids Sea Camp I just have to go every year!
If you could pick anywhere in the world to go where would you choose? I would pick any of the locations where a Kids Sea Camp is happening! I have met some pretty amazing people and they are now my really good friends. I have been to at least one Kids Sea Camp every summer at a variety of islands including Fiji, Curacao, Grand Cayman, Bonaire, and Roatan. I was at the very first Kids Sea Camp and I will be at the very last one too! During the school year when you are doing your homework, do you stop and daydream about where you would rather be? I think about how much I can’t wait until the summer to scuba dive and see my friends. Last year in Fiji, I got the opportunity to dive with sharks. My friends and I were terrified but we lived through it and it was an amazing experience
In the Kids Sea Camp’s in Curacao and Roatan, we swam with dolphins and they kiss you on the cheek. Photographers are there to take your picture and they are available and we use it as a Christmas card.

We can’t wait for Kid Sea Camp
We can hardly wait, to jump into the big ocean blue.
It’s been a long time getting here
dealing with long winters, colds, and flu.
We got our gear, cameras, and buoyancy vests.
The airline is all booked, we hope
our flight’s the best.
After 11 hours of travel, arriving so sleepy.
We finally get here on the sandy beach, so pretty.
Boat dive is all set and Carlos is our guide.
He gets us to our dive site with dolphins swimming by our side.
So many beautiful animals we get to see with wonder.
From tarpon to turtle, to frogfish and flounder.
But today, what a day, such a big super surprise.
A manta ray swam with us, 6 minutes total, no lies.
So forget about theme parks with long lines and dizzy rides.
Bring the whole family to Kid’s Sea Camp,
a vacation they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Then his head popped out and said: “hey there’s a manta”.
Dave jumped in the water as I finished my Fanta.
We all looked around with Dave’s tendency to joke,
No one was sure if they could believe the bloke.
We dawned our gear as fast as we could,
With this opportunity, we knew we should.
We got off the boat at record speed.
Cause logging a manta is just what we need.
The manta swam into the blue and we thought we missed him,
Then turned around, and for Joe’s birthday, he kissed him!
For six minutes or more, the manta circled around us.
We were so excited, we almost cussed.
The manta sailed gracefully away, a great story for later,
A truly great experience above the equator.
We finished the dive and headed to shore.

Fiji adventure to Castaway Island at Kids Sea Camp
By Jennifer Peyton-Chornlesky, age 11
Day 1 and 2: I drove to Atlanta and fly to LAX to meet the group at 6 pm. We left LAX at 10:30 at night on November 15th arrival in Fiji on Air Pacific a 747 10hr and 45 min to NAD airport.
Day 3: Saturday: 46 kids and 48 adults. We meet the South Seas Cruises Catamaran for a 2.5-hour sail through the Yasawa islands to Castaway Island.
Day 4 & 5: I woke up to the peaceful sound of the ocean crashing against the rocks. After I ate breakfast at the beachside restaurant, I went on 2 dives with other kids from all around the world, I am in the teen diver group for kids that are already certified divers and can dive. The first dive was really rough but it was a great dive, and I saw 7 Clownfish. This fish is mostly orange with white stripes and lives inside a sea anemone. Sea anemones sting other fish and people, but not the clownfish. These fish are only found in the South Pacific.
I am certified as a PADI diver up to 40 feet, other kids that are 12 and have their advanced diver certification can dive up to 65 feet. The second dive was at a sandbar I did not go on that dive but I went on the sandbar and snorkeled and took pictures. Later in the afternoon, we had a treasure hunt. We had to go looking for keys and maps. My team was the yellow team the green team won. I started my painting today with this famous artist Rogest. He is really funny He makes all the kids laugh and he paints with us during the week. We do dot art it an Australian style.
We usually do dot paintings, but instead this time the teen divers did graffiti art. The art is a picture of a marine animal and we have to tell a story or make a statement about the protection of that animal and what its crises are. Like Shark fining, or hunting of Sea Turtles or overfishing or killing whales. Why we think its wrong and what we can do to help stop it. After the day was over I went on a snorkel with my mom and dad. I saw clown fish, Needlenose fish and lots of blue starfish. They are so beautiful and only found in Fiji,
Day 6: I am really sad that I am leaving in just two days. This morning I went on a shark dive I was excited but also very scared. We were at a dive site called the Supermarket. This is where the sharks come to eat that is why they call it the Supermarket. There are hundreds of sharks that gather here, but they do not hurt any people. My dive group was the last ones in the water. When I jumped in I could just here the jaws music playing in my head. I saw a shark and I thought it was going to charge me but it didn’t. I saw 7 Wight tip reef sharks and some Bronzy Sharks; they are 5- 6 feet in length. That was the best dive Ever because I overcame a fear I had of sharks. The second dive I did not go on because it was too rough, there was a storm offshore. The storm was really outrages there were tree branches everywhere, The weather this year was not normal, we had lots of wind and rain a few days. This is due to Global Warming and one of the effects seen in Fiji. At dinner time we had a big feast For Thanksgiving. Instead of turkey, we had chicken. I had clam chowder and chicken with gravy. At Castaway Island, there is music at each meal and singing. There are beautiful flowers everywhere and the people are very nice, they smile and learn your name, and say Bula which means hello, Vanaka means thank you. They also were really pretty clothes around them called a Sulu, both the men and the women wear these. We all wore them for Thanksgiving.
Day 7: This is my last day in Fiji I only went on one dive, we see lots of beautiful fish on the reefs, and the water is very warm. I spent the rest the day got with my good friend Isabel and the other kids I met on my trip; there were 46 kids and 50 adults that came with us. We stayed in the pool for almost 3hr we a had a ton of fun. After I out of the pool. I got ready for the graduation ceremony. I showed my painting of a turtle it was called “save the turtles.” The last night, my Dad sang with the Castaway band and everyone danced and had fun. We all cried the next day when it was time to leave. The castaway makes you feel like family. All the dive staff and resort staff come out and sing goodbye songs and hug and kiss you, it’s very sad, like leaving an old friend. It’s sadder I thing for the other families, because I know I will be back every year. My mom leads our Kids Sea Camp group to Fiji every Thanksgiving. Many families come over and over because they love Fiji so much. Its perfect for kids, because kids like to sing and dance and paint and swim and dive and Castaway has all of.

A week we will remember forever
We are a family of five, submerged in the beautiful turquoise waters of Yap: a tiny island, off the beaten path for sure, located in Micronesia. You see, we live in Hawaii, so when I contacted Margo Peyton with Kids Sea Camp the bar was set pretty high for taking a family vacation. Margo guided us through a magical family adventure that we will, like her tagline said, remember forever.
I am surrounded by a pristine reef and schools of fish, many of which are large and pelagic. On the list in Yap was sailfish, reef sharks, manta rays and a whale shark. As I descend with my family into the sea below a euphoric feeling overcomes me. But what really is on my mind is the fact that all of my daughters are getting this experience along with my husband and myself together. It is amazing to have us all be experiencing this amazing, beautiful, untouched, unspoiled, majestic destination together.
Moments to remember forever: My youngest daughter, Emma, floats above my head and dives down for a high-five as she is only 7 right now and is still dreaming of the day she can officially dive with us. For now, she is snorkeling with sharks and learning about the ocean. The view she is getting is fantastic. She is being circled by schools of fish and small white tip reef sharks. She shoots me a huge smile and a great big Shaka from the surface and an OK signal. She is totally stoked to be part of this!
Sierra is out in the blue, following in her dad’s footsteps with her camera just waiting for that chance to log the perfect shot. She is in the zone: perfectly focused and ready for the shot. She signals me a huge OK and I know all is good. Her wish is granted as a juvenile whale shark poses inches from her lens and she has the shot.
Jos is busy being Brad Holland’s photo model. The perfect fit: a teen diver that has her buoyancy and diving down like a master diver. She is so into the dive that she doesn’t even notice all of the attention she is getting from the photographer. During the one-hour time frame that she gets to spend with the loves of her life, manta rays and sharks she is in heaven. She’s soaking in the experience. These moments at Kids Sea Camp are magical.
Jeff is taking the opportunity to spruce up his photography skills and is loving it as well. He has been spoiled by having a professional photographer spend a week with him, sharing tips of the trade. He is stoked to be using his newly found skills, and I even have a few photos of him taking photos which are rare since he is always the one shooting the photos (thank Brad for that).
And me, I’m just thrilled to share this unforgettable journey to Yap and Palau with my family. This type of experience cannot be purchased in a store or found in some prepackaged deal online. It’s not going to be on a cruise ship or in a theme park. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity created and personally hosted by Kids Sea Camp for us to all connect and embrace the majesty of the underwater world. We don’t have to say a single word, we just look at each other and smile when we surface. We all know what each other feels, it’s written all over our faces.
“This is the perfect family experience and one of many Kids Sea Camp offers. A trip of a lifetime. Thanks so much.” The article was written by Julie Wettstein

Kids Sea Camp is awesome!
I just wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we had in Grand Cayman. THANK YOU!!!
My daughter did indeed get certified (shown on the right in the pic of the kids) and was able to join us for the last day of diving. She was so proud to have finally done it, she told everyone she came across that she had gotten certified.
My son and I got in 12 dives, including a night dive that gave us a glimpse of not one, but TWO octopi! The Sting Rays were amazing, and even though we enjoyed seeing turtles more on our
dives than at the farm ( I followed this turtle up from 20 feet and just happened to have our GoPro in hand), the Turtle Farm was enjoyable too.
Emma was willing to adapt to our needs and was very professional in her approach, which I was more than grateful for. I trusted everyone at Divetech with our safety as well as our adventures. On top of all of this, the accommodations, staff, and food at Cobalt Coast were so good my children have asked me to make it an annual event!
Thank you again for your patience with my scattered approach to this trip. It truly was a family dive adventure we will not forget.
All the best,
Kym Lee

Fun things kids say about learning to scuba dive at Kids Sea Camp
Diving is fun, exciting, and taste bad! It is cool to breathe underwater. (Sarah)
I love looking at all the fish, looking at me (Logan)
Diving is hard but easy. It was hard because I had a little trouble getting my fins on, but it was easy to see and breath. (sam)
I like the zero gravity and feel like a superhero. (Jack)
I loved the camera I got from Margo Peyton and SeaLife. My favorite picture was the one that I took of my mom and dad. I did not take one of my brother because he was mad that I had the camera. (Cash)
I’m scared of jellyfish, they sting, but Sea urchins only hurt if you step on them. (Sophie)
Kids Sea Camp was my parents, aunt, and uncles’ Christmas present to me. They all enjoyed my gift, too. (Lisa)
I love diving at the kids’ Sea Camp with my friends! I have a new friend, Sophie! My favorite thing about Sophie is she lives in Grand Cayman, and I’m looking forward to visiting her a lot. (Holly)
I’m looking forward to the turtles we are going to see today! The Cayman Islands are really cool because we play with pirates, and I think my dad is one of them. – Noah, age 9, PADI seal team
Scuba diving feels good because I’m upside down. I see more colors and more creatures than on land. There are so many fish in the ocean. My favorite animal is the octopus because I would like to have 8 arms. When I went diving, I saw a really cool puffer fish. It has really big eyes with different colors.
The only time I got exercise was diving against the current. My favorite thing was learning how to scuba dive! I learned about a lot about the underwater world. I got a SeaLife camera and took a picture of a yellow and blackfish. I am scared of great white sharks. I’m looking forward to going on the boat in the ocean. I’m happy I came to Kids Sea Camp with my mom, dad, Jill, Jason, Debbie, and Scott for vacation. My favorite activity is diving. My favorite thing about the hotel in Grand Cayman is hanging out with my friends. I say thank you, mom and dad, I saw the most amazing stuff in the coral reefs of Grand Cayman with Kids Sea Camp! — Weston Bodle, age 9, PADI seal team
When you are a PADI seal you get to go on Aqua Missions and have a treasure hunt. This week I learned a lot of cool things about the ocean. I love diving and I hope I can dive more because it is fun to see fish and plants underwater. I think that every family should try scuba diving together. I think my grandma can do it too because you don’t have to walk. The SeaLife cameras are the best thing because it shoots very good pictures and videos on land and in water. Im not afraid underwater because just like with my big brother if you don’t bother anything, it wond bother you. (Joshua)
My parents, and grandparents brought me to Kids Sea Camp because they thought it would be a good experience for me to learn to dive with them. My grandpa taught us how to dive in the ocean as a PADI Seal. I’ve met a new friend named Jacob, and he lives in Wisconsin, and we will be dive buddies. My favorite part about this week was meeting Jacob. He does not have a grandpa so Im sharing mine with him.I am looking forward to taking pictures of Jacob in the ocean so I can share them with him. I’d like to thank my parents for bringing me To Kids Sea Camp. The best thing to tell my friends at home is diving is like being an astronaut (Grant) — age 9, PADI seal team
- I love diving it tastes like salt water, the equipment is heavy, the fish are adorable and the salt water burns….a lot! It’s weird breathing underwater because, technically, that’s not supposed to be possible; also, I now know how to get water out of my mask by breathing out my nose.
- At Kids Sea Camp in Grand Cayman, so far, I have met a British person, a Cayman person, a Canadian person, and a French person. I also saw water, sand and at Conch Fritters.
- Something hard that I am having trouble with is buoyancy, I accidentally kicked Sebastian in the face…OOPS! Also getting used to breathing with the regulator because I like to blow bubbles with it.
- The best part was pretending I was a mermaid with Zoe and seeing all the cute fish! I like listening to all the British people talk, I like to try to talk that way too. I think it’s cool.
- I got my SeaLife camera and it is really cool. I want to take a picture of Zoe because she’s gorgeous.
- September and Joe taught me how to take my mask off because when you need to do that, you will know how.
- My dad loves diving.
- I enjoy Zoe and Sebastian, he is British and I like the way he says turtle, and Zoe is just Awesome!

Kids Sea Camp is…….cool fun, and the best part is meeting other kids who scuba dive
The Cayman Islands are my favorite because there are Pirates, coconuts, shipwrecks, big iguanas and. My grandma is so happy I came on this trip with her. She is a diver, too, and we travel together.
Scuba diving is……. Fun and exciting. I love my grandmother!
I would tell my friends back home that they should start diving.
Austin Guarino, age 13, Advanced Open Water
Being underwater feels like you can fly. It sounds like nothing but bubbles. I feel like my regulator is to small for my mouth sometimes because I’m trying to talk underwater. My mask always fogs up, so I need to put more spit in it. Something I learned this week was how to scuba dive with Kids Sea Camp.— Quint Wegner, age 10, JOW
Snorkeling:
-It feels weird but cool for me to scuba dive underwater
-It sounds like me breathing underwater and listening to my bubbles is fun
-I never was really a fan of snorkeling, I feel like shark bait on the surface
-I see many cool things in the ocean, but my favorite thing to see is my family. (Shelby)
“-I’ve learned that scuba diving makes dads happy because there is no talking underwater.” (Jack)
-My mom brought me to Grand Cayman Kids sea Camp to do some fun things with my family. She brought my sister with us to, she can scuba dive with my mom. I didn’t really want to come here in the first place but I’m glad I did because I made lots of new friends. I’m very happy I came! My favorite part is all my new friends.
What I’m looking forward to:
-I’m looking forward to going snorkeling in the ocean and go to stingray city and dive with my mom and dad together as a family.
– A challenge to overcome is trying to go snorkeling more because I don’t really like snorkeling all that much.
My favorite memory so far:
-The scavenger hunt was my favorite thing so far because it was really fun to try and find the clues and the treasure.
Kids Sea Camp is:
-Fun, fantastic, great, awesome, terrific and fabulous, thank you for inventing a place for me.
Grand Cayman is:
-Hot, wonderful, and exciting and full of turtles and pirates
What I would tell my friend:
-My trip was great
– I had a great time
-You should go to Kids Sea Camp some time with me.

I am in the turtle program and it feels like I’m a turtle, I like to Explore!! I’m looking forward to using the SASY scuba unit with my mom and dad and diving as a family. My friend that I met Is Skylar! Kids Sea Camp is fun! Scuba diving with my mom and dad is my Favorite and fun! — Madi Banks, age 7, sassy
Scuba diving is weird but fun, I see lots of fish and other kids. I learned that I need to come up slow on assent. I hear water rushing around my ears when I go into the ocean. I taste a little salt water in the ocean. I’m excited to try the scooters. My mommy and daddy brought me to kids sea camp because they want my brother, sister and I to learn how to dive together as a family. It was challenging to get in the water but I feel better now and want to come again next time. I like diving with my mom and dad.

Dear Margo and Tom,
I just arrived back in Roatan after 2 incredible weeks with KSC, and I honestly can’t thank you enough. Thank you for thinking of me and inviting me. I will never forget.
The diving was simply unbelievable… so colorful, so full of life…. I saw so many new creatures, so many breathtaking walls… turtles everywhere, and the coral reefs were absolutely stunning. I was literally screaming underwater!
These were the best dives I’ve had in my life so far. And somewhere along the way, I developed a new passion for macro life. I love videos, but this was my first time using my phone to record macro, and it opened up a whole new world for me.
And what can I say about this amazing group? Linda and Kurt, and their whole family, have a special place in my heart. They are such wonderful people, always smiling, full of energy, and such an inspiration.
Kim and Andy were also an absolute joy, always laughing, always bringing great vibes.
John and Beth were wonderful too. I really enjoyed all of our conversations.
I also had such a great time with Lisa and Summer, and with Lisa and Krista. The whole group connected so naturally, and we shared so many unforgettable moments together. It was also a pleasure spending time with Woody and Kiley.
Trips are about experiences, but they’re also about the people you share them with, and that’s what made this one so special. I came home feeling incredibly grateful and so lucky for everything I experienced.
This trip came at exactly the right time for me. I really needed reconnect with myself again. The universe has a beautiful way of bringing unexpected gifts into our lives, and also has a beautiful way of bringing special people into our lives, and you and Tom are definitely two of those people.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I was in need of the KSC magic in my life. ❤️
