The ocean here is home to over 1,300 species of reef fish including 130 species of rare sharks and stingrays, 700 species of coral, and an abundance of other marine invertebrates and large pelagic mammals.
Palau Becomes First Country to Require ‘Eco-Pledge’ Upon Arrival
The Palauan government along with Sam’s Tours is taking action to conserve the nation’s valuable resources by banning destructive fishing techniques and shark finning and by creating the Protected Areas Network, as well as the world’s first shark sanctuary. All divers will be required to complete the Palau Pledge before entry into the country.
