Non-diving Children from 5 to 10 years old pay half the price of the adult in the same room, and infants (4 or less) are accommodated FREE with the adults. A minimum 7-night stay is required for this special.
All-Inclusive Beverage Package: The beverages included sodas, natural juices, water, tea, coffee, local beer, house liquors (rum, vodka, tequila, whiskey, and gin), a variety of cocktails, and wine with the dinner.
About Roatan
Where is Roatan? Roatan is the largest of the Bay Islands, a part of Honduras, just over 30 miles from the northern coast of the Honduran mainland.
The diving: Roatan is world-famous for its scuba diving. The pristine and newly protected reef surrounding the island attracts beautiful tropical fish, rays, sea turtles, dolphins, whales, and whale sharks, as well as big schools of fish for divers and snorkelers alike. Dive attractions include sea walls, shipwrecks, a submerged airplane, and night diving.
It’s an island jungle: Parrots, iguanas, and monkeys live in the wild on this tropical island. An iguana farm east of French Harbor provides a refuge for thousands of iguanas and is open to tourists. During crab season, island blue crabs come out at night by the thousands. The crabs climb trees to eat fruit.
The weather: Roatan has a mild tropical climate year-round, with sea temperatures perfect for swimming and diving all year.
Coxen Hole is the largest town in Roatan. It is the home of government offices. French Harbor is the second-largest community on the island. It is a thriving business center with grocery stores, banks, real estate offices, shrimp boats, docks, and shipping companies. French Harbor also offers a nice shopping center featuring restaurants, a grocery store, and many other businesses. Punta Gorda has the largest settlement of Garifuna people on the Bay Islands. There are also Garifuna settlements on the mainland of Honduras. The Garifuna have a fascinating culture that preserves their African roots. They beat African drums and still speak the Garifuna language, which is very unusual.
West End is one of the island’s leading tourist destinations, with dive centers, hotels, restaurants, and shops. West End has rental properties and condominiums for travelers staying longer on Roatan.
Family-friendly: Tourism Honduras recognizes the value of Roatan tourism and foreign investment to the nation’s economy. Accordingly, Honduras passed laws protecting the environment and encouraging foreign investment and ownership of property.
