Belize: Hopkins Bay Beach Resort

Welcome to Belize Kids Sea Camp Family Dive Adventure Vacation

Belize at Hopkins Bay Beach Resort March 31st- April 7th, 2018

Welcome to your next best family dive vacation! In 2018 we are heading to southern Belize, away from the hustle and bustle of the Belizian tourist centers. Kids Sea Camp is escaping to the peace and tranquility of the small towns of  Hopkins Bay. The guests will dive the second largest barrier reef in the world, you can expect healthy reefs with lots of marine life on every dive. Belize Underwater is one of just a few PADI 5-star dive operators in the southern part of the country that caters to dive families with kids

Also seen are large schools of fish, eagles rays, and nurse sharks. For the fisherman, the region has some of the best fly fishing for Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit in the Caribbean. Hopkins Bay Resort is ideally situated at the edge of Belize, on the Caribbean Sea, in the heart of the cozy Garifuna village of Hopkins Bay. Hopkins Bay was voted friendliest city in Belize. If you want the authentic experience in Belize family resort environment, welcome home.

Margo and Tom loved the town of Hopkins Bay on their site visit. You just can’t find a town as peaceful as Hopkins with only 2,000 full-time residents, it felt like there was only 200. The pace is slow and easy as a Sunday morning. It is a vacationer dream come true. Hopkins is the perfect place for major unplug faraway from the normal pace of American life.

It really is all about: Eat, sleep and dive and dive some more.

Hopkins Bay Resort is the ideal outpost to explore the Belize Barrier Reef, climb ancient Maya cities, canoe or kayak on Belize’s Jungle Rivers, go bird watching on rainforest adventures, or just relax in a hammock on the beach!

Welcome to Hopkins Bay, Belize- Hopkins Bay Resort family dive vacation

This is a wonderful addition to our Kids Sea Camp family dive adventure vacation venues. Hopkins Bay is charming and cultured and will easily win over your family's hearts.

About the town of Hopkins: Hopkins is a small Garifuna village on the coast of the Stann Creek District in Belize. The village lies south of the town of Dangriga. It is considered by some Belizeans to be the cultural center of the Garifuna population in Belize.

Hopkins welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and a safe environment. Hopkins was recently voted “The Friendliest Village in Belize” by Belize’s First Magazine. The village boasts a rustic local beach vibe with many mom and pop restaurants (shacks), small bars and gift shops. Over 1000 residents live in Hopkins and work in fishing, farming, and the booming hospitality industry.

Hopkins Village is separated into two main transects; the Northside (Baila) and the Southside (False Sittee). It is surrounded by the Maya Mountains and the Cockscomb Range inland, and the Caribbean Sea on its shore.

Diving for all levels of experience or age!

Belize Underwater is a 5-star PADI dive shop. During the Kids Sea Camp week, KSC will be adding our team of PADI Pros to the PADI Pro team at Belize Underwater to provide you a safe, fun and adventure filled scuba vacation for your whole family. You will be diving in the largest barrier reef in the Caribbean and the second largest in the world!  The Belize Barrier Reef offers all levels of diving and snorkeling, from shallow water Cayes to the Great Blue Hole.

We have created this custom family diving expedition with private boats, and PADI Pro dive team just for this Kids Sea Camp event. The dive staff is highly experienced and kid-friendly.  Kids Sea Camp staff is special needs friendly as well. Belize Underwater's PADI certified staff will take you to the Southern Barrier Reef, and the Belize atolls.  Dive Ranguana Caye, Glover’s Reef Atoll, the Elbow and Lighthouse Reef Atoll.

Although spearfishing in the protected areas is not permitted, divers do have the option to add spear-fishing lionfish to any dive! These invasive lionfish are hazardous to our reef, and you'll be helping the Belize Barrier Reef by catching them. We provide tridents for divers who want to spear-fish lionfish.

Rent your gear from our Belize Underwater or bring your own - our guides will set up everything, you just hop on the boat and go!  During Kids Sea Camp weeks in Belize, we do offer other PADI courses for adults and young adults.  Please give Margo or Zoe 803-4192556 a call to discuss any continued dive education courses.
